In August 2015 I had an exhibition on the Hill Top in Crystal Palace Park.  I exhibited photographs I had taken of the park along with a few taken of the Subway.  It was one of the happiest days of my life.  All thanks to my husband and grown up children we were able to hang 34 images from the trees.  Visitors signed a guest book that I had printed showing the photographs from the exhibition.  It was a lovely day and the feedback was very good.  A selection of the photographs are now available as photo canvases.  They celebrate the park and the Subway and commemorate a very special day in my life.  The exhibition was called Embedded In Nature.  I would like to invite you to bring a little bit of Crystal Palace Park nature into your home and a little of the magic of the Subway too.

Here are some of my memorable moments in Community Photography.

Walcot Foundation Annual Review.

Walcot Foundation is a charity set up to provide financial support to individuals and Organisations based in Lambeth.  I volunteered to photograph three of their beneficiaries and this was one of the photographs chosen for their Annual Review Report published in 2012.

Film Club

Continuing to volunteer in the community I was invited to photograph a group of young filmmakers and actors who were preparing to shoot a movie in the Crystal Palace Subway.  This ran for several months and at the end parents were invited to download some of the photographs I had taken while documenting the weeks in the run up to the final shoot.

Crystal Palace Subway

In September 2013 I was invited by Friends of The Subway to photograph the first Open House Event to take place at the Crystal Palace Subway.  This was a very exciting time and very challenging. It was wonderful getting the time over the two-day event to explore the Subway while at the same time working with natural light to capture both the visitors and the extraordinary and very beautiful architectural subject.

Stanley Halls

Volunteering for Lives of Stanley Halls was wonderful.  Being able to follow along on the tours and listen to Judith explain about all the different features of the building was amazing.  Meeting and photographing the participants who came along to share their memories of Stanley Halls was really rewarding.  I was really happy when Carol told me that my photo of the stage at Stanley Halls had been chosen for an online article for English Heritage.  It's the stage my daughter danced on when she was very small.

Crystal Palace Overground Festival

I enjoyed volunteering for the Crystal Palace Overground Festival with the array of different events from Live Music on the main stage to children's events and Spoken Word.

Streatham Festival

Streatham Festival was a lot of fun from African Cushion Making to the Shakespeare Players at the Rookery.
